Another way you can avoid holiday piracy is to ship your packages to other places where there is someone to receive it. Some stores will let you ship it to your local location; there you can pick it up with no hassle. Shipping packages to work can be an option too if it is possible. If you are shipping via FedEx or UPS, you can also ship it directly to one of their packing stores. Wherever you are shipping your package to, it is a good idea to purchase insurance on your packages. Just like your home and auto insurance can help you re-coop from loss, so can insurance on your packages. Security cameras and smart door bells can be a way to keep your packages safe as well as help ward off home insurance claims. These devices give you the ability to see what is going on at your front door, in some cases you can say something to the thief.
