With this opening up of outdoor activities do you need to think about your insurance?  May typically brings out seasonal toys.  Motorcycles, ATV’s, and boats are some of the toys that we start to see with nice weather.  In some cases people have let their insurance lapse or cancel on these toys.  Insurance policies for motorcycles, ATV’s and boats typically have two main coverage parts.  The first part is the liability, this is your coverage if you do damage to another person or another person’s property.  If you are using a marina for your boat or using a campground for your ATV, the owner of the property might demand this to use the facility.  Physical damage coverage is your protection for your toy.  You would have a deductible on this coverage.  The deductible would be the same as your auto insurance, bascially what you pay to fix your toy in the event of an accident and the insurance company would look to cover what’s left.   Some policies even allow you to add things like towing or trip interruption.  Typically insurance for these items is very cost effective depending on usage and speed.  We have many companies that we would be happy to look at for your toys.  Give us a call at 412-344-2800 and see what the cost would be to cover your toys.
