Erie Insurance is introducing personal cyber event coverage to their Erie homeowners policy. A current Erie Insurance homeowners policy with a select bundle endorsement has identity recovery coverage. Starting on 12/1/20 in addition to identity recovery your Erie Insurance homeowners policy will have personal cyber event coverage. In other words you may be receiving the coverage already. Erie homeowners customers with the select bundle do not have to do anything. Customers with the advantage or plus bundle can contact us to endorse their policy. This will lead to an increased cost, however, that increase could be smaller than you think. In other words, this can be very cost effective. How can you tell if you have the select bundle? On page three of your dec page look under the selected endorsements heading. Here you will see Eriesecure Home select endorsement. In addition, you will receive a stuffer in the mail.
What is Cyber Event Coverage.
What does this endorsement cover? The select bundle gives you a total of 30k in coverage for the policy period. Basically, this coverage reimburses the Customer for expenses incurred as a direct result of a cyber event. In addition you will receive case management services. A cyber event can be many things. For instance, the new coverage may include coverage for cyber bullying. Coverage for cyber extortion may also eligible. Other things covered could be identity theft. The unauthorized use of a card, card number or account number. You can contact us for a full list of coverages. Coverage will extend in most cases to resident relatives.
